LISA, from Green Acres, Paper Doll
















This is one of my childhood paper dolls, Lisa, from the television show "Green Acres". I really enjoyed playing with her and Oliver. I am missing several hats and I can remember an outfit of blue jeans and long-sleeved shirt for Lisa that I cannot find. I have two more outfits that I did not include.

MRS. WIGGS OF THE CABBAGE PATCH Coloring Contest, 1934


This picture is from a newspaper coloring contest from November 1934. The contest was open to kids of the age of 12 and under. 100 children won a pair of tickets to see the movie "Mrs. Wiggs of the Cabbage Patch". The movie was based on the 1901 novel by Alice Hegan Rice. The movie starred W. C. Fields, Pauline Ward, Zazu Pitts, Evelyn Venable, Kent Taylor, Donald Meek and Virginia Weidler.

MARY JO McGINNIS Paper Doll, 1935


Here is Mary Jo McGinnis, kid sister of Muggs McGinnis. Mary Jo and her brother live with their grandma and grandpa McGinnis in a small town. Mary Jo, Muggs and their circle of friends get up to a lot of mischief. This paper doll appeared in newspapers on April 10, 1935.

MUGGS McGINNIS Paper Doll, 1935


Muggs McGinnis was created in 1927 by Wally Bishop. The comic strip became syndicated in 1935. The strips titled was changed to Muggs and Skeeter in 1936 and it ran until February of 1974, a forty-seven year run.

THE MUDDLED MENAGERIE, 1905


The Muddled Menagerie (And You Straighten Them Out?) was a children's page series that ran in newspapers in 1905. Directions: All the animals are interchangeable. Cut out the animals, then separate them at dotted lines and paste on cardboard. To make normal animals, or form new combinations - save the pieces, as with coming installments you can add to the infinite variety of weird animals.
