GONE WITH THE WIND Movie Coloring Contest, 1954
A newspaper coloring contest for the reissue of the classic film "Gone With The Wind". I like the picture but this scene never appeared in the actual movie. Gone With The Wind is one of those almost perfect films that could never be duplicated. Great story, great writers, great direction, great cinematography, great wardrobe and what an amazing cast of actors playing an amazing cast of characters. This coloring contest appeared in July of 1954.

THE SEARCHERS Movie Coloring Contest, 1956
Another classic John Wayne movie. The Searchers starred John Wayne, Jeffrey Hunter, Vera Miles, Ward Bond, Natalie Wood, John Qualen, Harry Carey Jr., Olive Carey, Antonio Moreno, Henry Brandon, Hank Worden, Ken Curtis (Festus in Gunsmoke and I think he was son-in-law to John Ford at that time and he had a beautiful singing voice and was a one-time member of The Sons Of The Pioneers.), Lana Wood, Dorothy Jordan and Pat Wayne. From Leonard Maltin's Movie Guide "Superb Western saga of Wayne's relentless search for niece (Natalie Wood) kidnapped by indians, spanning many years. Color, scenery, photography all splendid, with moving, insightful Frank Nugent script to match (based on Alan LeMay's novel). And who could ever forget that final shot?" The director was, of course, John Ford. John Wayne certainly was in lots of great movies.
