The NUT BROS. comic strip by Gene Ahern starred brothers Ches Nut and Wal Nut. The NUT BROS. first appeared as a topper for the comic strip OUR BOARDING HOUSE in October of 1931. This nutty cut-out appeared in Sunday papers on December 10, 1933.

C'mon Kids - Dress Him Up!, 1935

HERKY'S New Summer Wardrobe appeared in the Sunday Comics of April 21, 1935. HERKY was a comic strip by Clyde Lewis. I have found one other paper doll from this comic strip for Easter time. Anyway, it still feels like summer in Houston with highs in the upper 90's and no rain. I think HERKY is kinda funny.

I am a big fan of P. G. Wodehouse, especially his Jeeves and Wooster stories. "Jolly birds, cats" so says Bertie Wooster of Cuthbert the cat - a terrific line. I fell in love with this coloring page for children from an Altoona newspaper. The artist is Cynthia C. Vasilis. From September 1979.

The comical cop from the "High Pressure Pete" newspaper comic strip as a paper doll. I have already posted the paper doll of High Pressure Pete. Paper doll appeared in newspapers in April of 1935. - - - - - - - - I have had jury duty all week long and it finally ended today. It was a criminal case of enviromental crimes. The verdict was guilty. What the jury found out today after the punishment phase was that the defendant in the case will next go on trial for the attempted murder of his sister with a bomb placed in a box of candy. A very scary man. - - - I hope to get back to regular posting tomorrow.
